This is an opportunity for every member of your parish regardless of their age, gender, faith and ethnicity to belong to a cell and to grow in their faith.
There are parishes that use the PECS model for formation of their youth, the content would be more age appropriate but the structure is the same.
Yes!
PECS will energise all that you are doing across your parishes and can be a platform for sharing coherent visions and values. Start with one parish and develop a cell, then use this cell to help you develop one in your other parish.
You core team will need to include people from each parish to ensure that the consistency you desire is maintained.
PECS, unlike many other parish groups, focuses on evangelisation. Members grow in their relationship with God in order to show their faith to their family, friends and even colleagues.
This style of group will give life to all that you are doing in your parish.
Yes!
PECS answers the “what next?” for when Alpha finishes. There is no better place for your Alpha guests to move into then a group of people desiring to proclaim Christ and Alpha becomes an opportunity for those exploring their faith to meet like-minded people.
No.
The life in the Spirit Seminars offer an opportunity to inspire your parishioners to respond to the Holy Spirit working in their lives calling them to be missionary disciples. PECS is a perfect format for your parishioners to live out what has been planted; a cell gives life through prayer, teaching, encouragement and community.
A cell contains between 6 - 12 people. Fewer than 6, the discussion can feel stilted and the moments of silence too long. Larger than 12, the cell begins to feel impersonal and it is more likely for members to not come so regularly.
When a cell is a consistent 12, it is time to consider multiplying into two cells to allow the growth to continue.
